Mrs. Chas. M. Schear Succumbs Tuesday
Mrs. Charles M. Schear, age seventy-seven of Hampton, a lifelong resident of Franklin County, passed away Tuesday night at the Lutheran Home in Hampton. She had been in ill health since October 26,1959, when she suffered a stroke. Death was due to the complications resulting from the stroke.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Greenfield funeral home in Hampton. Rev. Gene B. Bates, pastor of the First Christian Church will conduct the last rites and interment will be made in the Hampton Cemetery.
Mrs. Effie Schear was born December 17, 1882, in Franklin County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orland Hilliker. She was married to Charles M. Schear, July 11, 1906, in Franklin County and they made their home in Franklin County their entire married life. Three children were born to the union, a son and daughter preceding her in death. Mr. Schear passed away May 31, 1958.
Surviving is one son, Dewitt Schear of Hampton, one sister, Mrs. William Jerrow, of Mora, Minnesota, a brother, Hubert Hilliker of Dumont, and a half-brother, Erford Norman, of Rockford. Besides her husband and two children, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Schear was a member of the First Christian Church, Rosella Rebekah Lodge and Royal Neighbors lodge, and the Ladies Cemetery Aid Society.
