Esther M. Hurtgen

Services for Esther Marie Hurtgen, 76, Hampton were held Monday, Dec. 23, at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton. The Rev. Steve George officiated. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.

Mrs. Hartgen died Thursday Dec. 19, at her home.

She was born May 18, 1915, in West Fork Township, Franklin County, to Lewis and Pearl (Robinson) Anway.

She was raised in Franklin and Butler counties. She attended Geneva schools to the 12th grade.
On June 29, 1940, she married Guy E. Walker in Northwood.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons; Gene Walker, Hampton; Ronald Schoon, Byron, Ill.; Robert Schoon, Polo, Ill., and Larry Walker, Dumont; one daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Bonnie) Welsher, Hampton; one brother, Kenneth Anway, Eldora; three sisters; Helen Winsor, St. Paul, Minn.; Irene Alderman, Waterloo, and Evelyn Livengood, Hampton; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, three step-sons, three sisters and two brothers.

Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, was in charge of arrangements.
