Virgil A. Clabaugh, 81, died Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at the East Mesa Care Center in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Popejoy. The arrangements were handled by the Tenold Funeral Home.

Virgil Albert Clabaugh, the son of Albert and Viola (Cave) Clabaugh was born September 9, 1913 in Worthington, Minnesota. He moved with his family to Boone and graduated from Boone High School. In 1948 he moved to Klemme where he started Clabaugh Electric. He married Alberta M. Petrie on July 10, 1937. After the death of his wife in 1993 he went to live with a daughter in Mesa. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Moose and Eagle's Lodges.

Survivors include his daughters Joellen and her husband Duane Bramsen of Gainesville, Missouri; Karen and her husband Ronald Knudtson of Mason City; Sherryle and her husband Richard Meyers of Mesa, Arizona and Roma and her husband Paul Mueller of Des Moines and sons Bill Clabaugh and wife Roxanna of Van Nuys, California and Gary Clabaugh of Klemme. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers James Clabaugh of Gainesville, Robert Clabaugh of Des Moines and Dick Clabaugh of Cleveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alberta, three brothers and one sister.
