January 18, 1951Alfred Tuecke and John Tuecke Funeral Services Held Tuesday
Sheffield, Iowa, Jan. 17. —Alfred Tuecke died at his home here Saturday morning at 8:00 o’clock, following a heart attack, and his father, John Tuecke, died a few hours later at the Lutheran hospital, in Hampton, following a short illness.
Double funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, at 1:30 o’clock, at the rural Alfred Tuecke home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Zion St. John’s American Lutheran church, in Sheffield, with Rev. H. F. Finn in charge. Burial was made in Hillside cemetery.
Alfred Tuecke was born December 15, 1900, near Sheffield. He was united in marriage to Hannah Oeltjenbruns, October 24, 1925, and they have made their home in this vicinity on various farms. The past year they have lived on his father’s farm.
Surviving are his wife and two children. Mrs. Leland Lage, and Marvin Tuecke, in training with the U.S. Army, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri: Two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Dittberner and Miss Louise Tuecke, all of Sheffield.
The father, John Tuecke, was born December 30, 1872, in Clayton county, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Minnie Lewin, in Clayton County on February 22, 1900. They immediately came to Sheffield and made their home on a farm east of Sheffield.
Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Viola Dittberner and Miss Louise Tuecke; four grandchildren, and a brother Ed Tuecke, of Garnavillo, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Tuecke observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary February 22, 1950
