Hampton Woman Passed Away Last Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Nels Jensen, age seventy, of Hampton, who passed away last Saturday at the Lutheran hospital, in Hampton, were held Tuesday afternoon at the St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton. Rev. Gudmund Peterson, pastor of the church , was in charge of the final rites an burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Jensen had been ill for about six weeks with a heart ailment.
Mrs. Ingeborg Jensen was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, December 16, 1881. At the age of sixteen she came to America and made her home with a sister at Dows.
Four years later, in 1902 she was married to Nels Jensen, of Hampton, at St. John's Lutheran Church, where she had been a member since that time, five children were born to this union.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Edward Hansen, of Hampton, and four sons, Peter Jensen, of Coulter, Ingvard Jensen, of Liberty, Missouri, Evald Jensen and Henry Jensen, of Hampton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
