Last Rites Held Wednesday For John J. Christensen
John J. Christensen passed away early Monday morning at Franklin General Hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. David Larson officiating at the last rites. Burial was in the church cemetery6. The Green & Siestema Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 8, 1897 in Franklin County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Christensen. On Dec 12, 1923 he was married to Dagney Hansen at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They engaged in farming.
Mr. Christensen is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Arvon Simons of Hampton and Mrs. John Hansen of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
