Harold McKee, 93, of Sheffield passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at the Sheffield Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at West Fork United Methodist Church in Sheffield with Pastor Sandy Gobeli presiding. Interment will be at the West Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the church.
Harold Lloyd McKee was born May 31, 1924, on the family farm rural Sheffield, a son of Willie and Vera (VanHorn) McKee. He attended country school. Harold was baptized and raised as a member of the West Fork Church. He farmed his entire life on the farm his family has rented continuously for 100 years, raising crops, hogs, cattle and chickens.
Harold was a very patient man with the good humor of the McKee's. He greatly valued the time spent with his family and was a second dad to his nieces and nephews. He taught his great nieces and nephews to drive. He enjoyed playing pool, a sport he was quite good at. Fond memories include he always got the first strawberry of the season and was often found with his brother Marvin and his family.
Living family members include sisters: Irene Annonson, Charles City; Loraine (Dean) Schrock, Lawrence, KS; sister-in-law: Ilene McKee, Kansas City; special nephew: Dylan (Kristi) McKee and their children: Joey, Bridget and Cassie; many nieces, nephews and long time friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wilbur, Bob and Marvin; sisters-in-law: DeAlta McKee and Lola McKee; brother-in-law: Alvin Annonson and close friend Lloyd Annonson.
