Palmer C. Parsons Died at Assiniboia, Canada – Numerous Relatives Here.
Palmer C. Parsons, son of P.C. and Augusta Parsons was born at Orid, Michigan, and, at the age of 14 moved with his parents to Odebolt, Iowa. He was a graduate of Highland Park Pharmacy School, Des Moines, and followed the work of druggist until 1906 when he took up a homestead claim in Canada. He was united in marriage in 1909 to Louisa Sessler at Omaha. One child was born to them but died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Parsons made their home at Assinaboia, Canada, until Nov. 1, 1929, when they went to Denver, Colorado, to live with an only sister and brother, Dr. S. T. Parsons. Here it was that on Jan. 19 he passed away, leaving to mourn his loss his wife, one sister Mrs. Cora M. Hayden, his brother, and one daughter by a former marriage, Janette Parsons of Los Angeles, besides other relatives and friends. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Assiniboia. He had for over 25 years been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday Jan. 22, at the Greenfield funeral parlors conducted by Rev. J. J. Brittell, Presbyterian church, at 1 p.m. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Parsons was a brother-in-law of Mrs. August Voy, north of Ackley, and there are numerous relatives at and near Aplington.
According to the 1900 census, Richland Twp, Sac Co, IA, Palmer Parsons was born Dec 1873. He married Elsie D. Riley on Feb 2, 1898 in Montezuma, Poweshiek Co, IA
