Largely attended and impressive funeral services by Rev. C.J. Barth, assited by Rev.
E. Seybold, of Ackley, were held Tuesday afternoon
at 1:30 O'clock from the Evangelical St. Paul's
church of Hampton for Mrs. Anna Bergmann, wife
of Peter Bergmann, whose death occurred Saturday
morning at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown
following an operation for gallstones which she
submitted to on Tuesday of last week. Burial was
made in the Hampton cemetery.The deceased, whose maiden name was Anna
Katherina Marie Lindloff, was born July 26, 1860,
at Vriedel, Germany, where she grew to womanhood
and was married to Peter Bergmann, Dec. 7, 1880.
The young couple came to America in 1883 settling
in this county near Chapin, and later moved to a
farm one mile northeast of Latimer where they
resided for 24 years. In 1917, they moved to
Hampton which has since been their home.Mrs. Bergmann is survived by her husband
and the following children: George, William
Henry, Fred and Walter Bergmann, Mrs. Mary
Dohrmann; Mrs. William Rathmann; Mrs. Emma
Herman; Mrs. Anna Oker; and Rose and Etta
Bergmann, all residents of this community.
The deceased is also survived by 10 grand-
children; one brother, Mr. Wm Lindloff; two
sisters, Mrs. George Burmeister, and Mrs.
Henry Prenzler, all residents of this country,
and by three sisters in Germany.Mrs. Bergmann enjoyed a large acquaintance
and was known as a splendid wife and mother,
kind neighbor, and dependable friend. She had
been a faithful member of the Evangelical
