Last Rites Held For Former resident
Anton Simonsen Passed Away Last Thursday

Anton Simonsen, age seventy-eight, former resident of Franklin county, died at a hospital in Albert Lea, Minnesota, last Thursday, November 4th, following an illness of two weeks.

Funeral services were held last Saturday morning at Freeborn funeral home in Albert Lea, and at St. John's Lutheran church, near Coulter, Saturday afternoon. Rev Thorval Hansen, and Rev. Hans Juhl officiated at the last rites and burial was made in the church cemetery.

Anton Simonsen was born February 22, 1870, in Harsens, Denmark. He came to the United States in 1892 and settled in Cedar Rapids where he worked as a blacksmith. He farmed near Hampton until 1919 when he moved to Minnesota.

In 1897 he was married to Miss Sena Jensen, at Cedar Rapids.

She with two sons and four daughters, a brother, a sister and fourteen grandchildren survive.

The surviving children are Clarence Simonsen, at home, Nels Simonsen, of Alden, Mrs. Joe Nelson, of Albert Lea, Mrs. Carl Soland, of Hampton, Mrs. Martin Larson and Mrs. Paul Heilskov, all of Hampton. His brother Simon Simonsen, lives in Denmark, and Mrs. Nels Christiansen, his sister, resides in Hudson
