Prominent Latimer Resident Is Dead

Following an illness of four weeks in which he underwent two operations, John Larsen, 70, of Latimer, died at the Lutheran Hospital in Hampton at 6:15 o'clock Friday evening. He had been in comparatively good health until his recent illness.

John Larsen was born in Denmark November 2, 1852. When he was 19 years of age he came to America and was later joined here by his father. He settled on a farm near Latimer in 1880 where he resided until 1913 when he retired and moved to Latimer.

Mr. Larsen was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Johanna Larsen, and four children.

He is survived by 3 sons and two daughters. The sons are Hamford of Lignite, N.D., Chris of Alexander, and Arthur of Coulter.

The daughters are Mrs. Chris Stadtlander of Alexander and Mrs. Jens Dybdahl of Olivet, S.D.

Mr. Larsen was a member of the Danish Lutheran church. He was well known through the western part of Franklin county and generally liked by the many who knew him.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev, F.C. Rasmussen at 1 o'clock Monday at the home in Latimer and later at the Coulter Lutheran church.
Burial was at St. John's cemetery.
