Axel Paulsen died early Sunday morning, May 18, at his farm home southwest of Hampton. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Tuesday, May 20, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton. Burial will bee in the church cemetery. The Rev. Milton Eklund will officiate at the last rites. Green & Sietsema Funeral Home is in charge.

Born February 12, 1916 in Franklin County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paulsen, he was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He was married to Leona Hansen January 29, 1940, in Franklin County. He farmed southwest of Hampton and was also employed at the CAL Community School.

Mr. Paulsen is survived by his wife, one son, Richard of Hampton, one daughter, Mrs. James (Joanne) Van dyke of rural Dumont, one brother, Ernie of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
