Petrea K. Nielsen, a lifetime resident of Franklin County, Iowa, passed away on June 11 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Funeral services will be held today, June 14 at 1:30 in the St. John's Lutheran Church east of Coulter, Iowa. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Miss Nielsen was born in Hampton on July 31, 1908, the daughter of Chris and Anna Nielsen.

She was a graduate of Hampton High School, Hamilton Business College and LaSalle Accounting Society of Chicago. She served for over 25 years as office manager of the former Marshall Canning Company.

She was past Chamber of Commerce Secretary, and at time of death was secretary the Hampton Park Commission.

Music was one of her special hobbies and she held both state and National office in the National Federation of Music Clubs, and was named Honorary Chairman of the Junior festivals held in Cedar Falls this year. She was a member of the local Treble Clef Club, Franklin County Arts Council, and St. John's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one sister, Nielsine Nielsen.
