Alfred Christensen Miller, 84, of Hampton, died of natural causes on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at Franklin General Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Alfred Christensen Miller was born on Sept. 24, 1914, at Coulter, the son of Jess Miller and Ida Christensen. He was educated in Franklin County Public Schools.

On Feb. 17, 1937, he married Martha Lund in St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton. He was employed as a farmer and later worked as a custodian at North Side Elementary School in Hampton. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Hampton, a son, Dennis, of Omaha, Neb., a daughter, Margaret Willcox, of Hampton, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
