Jorgensen Vera June Jorgensen, 84, of rural Hampton, died Friday, Oct. 20, 1995.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 23, at St. John's Lutheran church, rural Hampton, with the Rev. Mark Urlaub officiating.

Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hampton.

She was born June 4, 1911, in Popejoy, the daughter of Alvin and Anna (Ellingson) Bensen. She attended Popejoy High School.

She married James Jorgensen Sr. March 2, 1932, in rural Popejoy at her parents' home. She worked as a teacher at a rural country school in Popejoy.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and active in the V Club, or Mothers Club, and the eastern Star Club. She also was a patient advocate at the Franklin General Hospital Extended care Unit.

She is survived by her husband, James Jorgensen Sr. of rural Hampton; two sons, James Jorgensen Jr. or rural Hampton and Marlyn Jorgensen of Garrison; one daughter Mrs. Paul (Joyce) Piechowski of Bettendorf; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Anderson of Dows and Carol Cave of Des Moines; and one brother, Wendell Bensen of Iowa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
