Last Rites Today for Peter Jorgensen
Franklin County Farmer Passed Away Tuesday

Peter Jorgensen, age seventy-nine, of near Hampton, passed away at his farm home early Tuesday morning, October 1st. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at 10:00 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. W.E. Garred, pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. The Vogel funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Peter Jorgensen was born July 5, 1881, in Denmark. He came to the United States in 1905 and settled near Cedar Falls,. He later moved to Hardin County where he farmed until 1918 when he moved to Hamilton township in Franklin County, where he had farmed for the past forty two years.

He was married to Carrie Larsen, February 25, 1909, in Hamilton Township.

Mr. Jorgensen is survived by his wife, three sons, James Jorgensen and Leo Jorgensen, of Hamilton township, and Harold Jorgensen, of Iowa falls; two brothers, Christian and Willhem, who live in Denmark.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge, of Iowa Falls. He was a past board member of the farmers Cooperative Elevator, in Iowa falls, and for many years served as trustee in Hamilton township.
