Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for T.P. Johnson, of Latimer, at the home of his son, Raymond A. Johnson, at 1:30 o'clock and at St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton, in Hamilton township. Burial was made in the church cemetery, Rev. H. Juhl, pastor was in charge of final rites, assisted by Rev. H.H. Wintermeyer.

Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday morning at the home of his son, R.A. Johnson, in Latimer, after a several months illness.

Thorwald Peter Johnson was born January 6, 1871, at Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson. On March 3, 1896, he was married Miss Kjestine Petersen, at Latimer, and they made their home in Latimer.

Mr. Johnson followed the profession of harness maker for several years and served as Postmaster in Latimer for a number of years.

Mrs. Johnson passed away July 16, 1927.

Mr. Johnson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. O.N. Schultz, of Latimer, and two sons, Dr. Einer Charles Johnson, of Eagle Grove, and Raymond A. Johnson, of Latimer. He is also survived by two brothers, Ove A. Johnson, of Hampton, and Albert Johnson, of Latimer, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Roemer, of Ames.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Lutheran church, the Masonic Lodge, the Danish Brotherhood and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was always very active in all civic affairs, holding various offices in community organizations and was a pioneer Latimer businessman, retiring after forty nine years of active service.
