Marie E. Hansen, 91, passed of Coulter, died of natural causes Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at the Franklin general Hospital, Hampton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is today, Dec. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton.
Marie was born May 6, 1906, in Franklin County, daughter of Peter F. and Anna (Blom) Neilsen. She was raised In Franklin County and educated in rural Franklin County schools.
She married Ernest Hansen on Feb. 24, 1927, near Hampton. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Women of the ELCA and St. John's quilters club.
She is survived by two sons, Earl Hansen of Hampton and Glenn Hansen of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Leona (Mrs. Bud) Meyer of Coulter, and Shirley Jones of West Des Moines; a sister, Neva (Mrs. Bud) Rogers of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
