Edward Hansen, 91, of Hampton died of natural causes on Thursday, July 21, 1994, at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton, with the Rev. Joyce Guldager officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Church Cemetery in rural Hampton. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Sept. 18, 1902, in Vester-Haesinge, Fynn, Denmark, the son of Hans Christian and Egede (Petersen) Hansen. He attended Grand View College in Des Moines, (winter schools).
He married Rosa Jensen on Sept. 12, 1934, in rural Hampton. He was a farmer and worked in agriculture.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, secretary of the church council and a member of the St. John's Gym Team. He was also on the Coulter Creamery Board.
He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mary Rasmussen and Irma Hansen, both of Hampton; and a brother, Gunnar Hansen of Latimer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Henry, and a sister and brother in infancy.
