Nielsene M. Nielsen 89 of Hampton, Iowa passed away January 16, 2001 at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa.
She was born February 2, 1911 in Hampton, Iowa to Chris Nielsen and Anna Jensen.
She was a graduate of Hampton High School, attended Folk College in Tyler, Minnesota. She completed the school of the Air Courses presented by station WCAL from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She served as a secretary in Hampton for 50 years, 16 years with Hobbie Auto Co., 7 years with John Deere Plow Co., and 25 years with Extension service in Franklin Co. Following retirement she served on the Hampton Park Commission, Chamber of Commerce, and personal secretary to Don Yaden of the Seabee Corporation.
Music was one of her special hobbies, she was elected to treble Clef Club on Nov 3, 1931 when Ada Goodyear was secretary. She became a life member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and held both State and National Offices. She was a member of the National League of American Pen Women with Headquarters in Washington D.C.. She was a past president of the Des Moines branch. She was a life member of the Franklin County Historical society, Charter member of the Franklin County Arts Council, and a member of St Johns Lutheran Church.
Nielsene is proceeded in death by her Parents, One sister Petrea. Arrangements by Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home.
