Mary Rasmussen, 95, of Hampton, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at the Hampton Health care Center in Hampton.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 11, at St Johns Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with Rev Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial was in the St Johns Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hampton. The Siestema-Vogel Funeral home in Hampton was in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born Feb. 24, 1904, near Odense, Denmark, the daughter of Hans Hansen and Egedie Petersen. She attended Morgan and Scott townships country schools in Franklin County and Ellsworth College secretary school.

On February 24, 1930 Mary married Holger Rasmussen at St John's Church, rural Hampton.

She sold Avon for 13 years and was a member of the St Johns Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, where she was involved in women's groups. Mary was also a president of the Coulter Parent-Teacher Association. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary was survived by two sons, Edward of Newton and David of Boston, Mass.; one brother, Gunner Hansen of Latimer; one sister, Irma Hansen of Hampton; three grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents,; her husband; and three brothers.
