Will Inman received a telegram announcing the burning of his brother Dan's home, and the perishing of his mother, his sister, Mrs. Nancy Undercoffer and son George in the flames. His wife and four other children were seriously burned.

These people lived near and in Sheffield several years ago and were well known and respected by many of the older settlers who mourn the sad calamity that has overtaken the family.
