MASON, WHITNEY, MOOREHOUSE, HARLAN, UPDIKE, BELDING

Nathaniel Mason passed away last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.C. Belding, 224 South Michigan street.

Mr. Mason was born in New Hampshire, June 20, 1826. In 1853 he married Caroline Whitney, who passed away last November.

About 1860 he moved to Illinois and thirty-four years ago came to Iowa, settling on a farm in Franklin county. Thirteen years ago he came to this county, moving to a farm two miles south of Clear Lake, where he lived for two years. He then retired and resided in Clear Lake until last November when his wife died. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter in this city.

His children who survive are Mrs. C.L. Moorehouse, of Hampton, Fay Mason of Hampton, Mrs. Fred Harlan of Bristow, Mrs. W.C. Updike of Denver, Col., Ernest Mason of Clear Lake, and Mrs. W.C. Belding of this city.

Funeral services will be held at the home of W.C. Belding tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with interment at Clear Lake.
