The Recorder gave mention last week of the serious illness of Mrs. W.M. Shepard, who resided at Zarah, Kansas, and the next report that came was of her death from scarlet fever, being sick only a few days. The remains were brought to Greene, Saturday and the interment made in Rose Hill cemetery only brief services being performed at the grave by Rev. Oberle.

Obituary.

Lulu Blanche Yohn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Yohn of this city, was born in Franklin county, Iowa, on April 11, 1885, and died at Zarah, Kansas, Apr. 13, 1910, aged 25 years.

Deceased was married to William M. Shepard, April 13, 1903 and to this union were born three children, Lois Mae, aged 6 years, Edward Harry, aged 4 years and Zelma Viola, five months old, all left with their father to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother and wife. Besides are left her father and mother, sister, Mrs. Flloyd Kingery and Bessie Yohn, besides a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Owing to the nature of her illness the coffin could not be opened to permit the members of her family here to view her remains and what was doubly severe on her father was his own illness, being confined at his home after undergoing an operation.

The deceased was a lovable young woman called from this world when she was most needed to care for her young family, who will never know her worth and gentle guiding spirit in the years to come.

The Recorder joins in extending heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing ones.

Out of town relatives and friends here to the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Will Fikis of Charles City; Rev. Wheeler and wife, Paul Harris and wife and James Harris, all of Clarksville.
