Paul Eugene Popejoy, 53, a vacationer from San Diego, died Friday in an Aberdeen hospital after a brief illness. Popejoy had lived in San Diego for the past 21 years. He was born in Popejoy, Iowa, which was named after his grandfather. He was a teacher in the San Diego school system for the past 18 years.
