Dows - Mrs. Emerie Workman, 23, died at 1 o'clock Monday morning at the Lutheran hospital in Hampton. She was taken there Wednesday night, Aug 11, where her son was born dead and buried Thursday afternoon.
Ruth Eunice Franks was born in Dows, Jan 3, 1914, and lived all her life here till her marriage to Emerie Workman, July 8, 1936. They lived in Waterloo till last spring when they moved to a dairy farm near Cedar Falls. She came to the home of her mother about three months ago.
She leaves her husband, her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Franks, four sisters and one brother; Mrs. Clarence Richards, Mrs. David Watt, Mrs. Ralph Watts, Samuel and Madge Franks, all of Dows. Her father died more than eight years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Richards arrived about five Monday evening, not having received the messages calling them home on account of the illness and death of her sister, Mrs. Emerie Workman. Mrs. Richards was not feeling so very well so they decided to return in place of continuing another week.
The funeral is to be held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. E. Redmayne in charge.
