Chapin, March 9 - Funeral services of Edward Thomas of Scales Mound, Ill., were held here at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J.E. Pritchard. Mr. Thomas passed away at his home in Scales Mound, March 5, at the age of 72 years. He was a former resident of this place and was also assessor here. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. Interment was made in the Old Chapin cemetery beside his wife and three children.
