Isabel V. Eno, 80, Sheffield, an English and Latin instructor in many schools in Iowa, died Nov. 25 at Apache Junction, AZ, where she had recently arrived to spend the winter months.
Services were held Dec. 2, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Sheffield, with Rev. R. D. Streeter officiated. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers were William F. Eno and Jack Eno of Sheffield, Duane Walter, William J. Eno, Jim Eno and James Walter of Luana.
The daughter of William H. and Verena (Walter) Eno, she was born June 5, 1907 on the family farm one mile north of Sheffield.
She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1924. She graduated from Grinnell College, Grinnell, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education and later earned her Master's Degree in Library Sciences from the University of Colorado.
She taught English and Latin in the following schools in Iowa: Ayrshire, Ventura, Riceville, Greene and Waverly.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the UMW; American Association of University Women of Waverly, where she taught 29 years; member of Iowa State Teachers Association; Franklin County Genealogical Society and the local Cemetery Society.
In 1972 she retired from teaching and library work. Thereafter she spent her summers in Sheffield and enjoyed her winters in Arizona.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Telmer (May) Olson, Monona; and 2 brothers, William P. Eno, Walter W. Eno, both of Sheffield, one niece and 3 nephews.
