Emily Caroline Louise Schoning widow of Fred Schoning, passed away last Friday morning, Dec 23 1927 at her rural home in Hamilton township. Funeral services, conducted by Rev E G Juengel, were held at the residence Monday afternoon at 12:30 and from the Lutheran church at Beed Lake at 1:30. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
The deceased was born in Germany, May 8, 1856, and when thirteen years old came with her parents to the United States. Forty eight years ago she was joined in marriage to Fred Schoning at Chicago and the young couple in 1881 came to this county, locating on a farm in Hamilton township.
Mrs Schoning is survived by three daughters, two sons, sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was well known to the people of Hamilton township and is kindly remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a hospitable neighbor and true friend.
