Mrs. Jake (Gertie) Kramer, 91, a resident of Sheffield for the past 33 years, died, Sunday, Sept. 9, in the Rockwell Nursing Home. She had been in apparent good health until Monday, August 13, when she suffered a fall and was taken to Mercy Hospital for x-rays and treatment. She returned to the home on Tuesday, Sept. 4. She died Sunday afternoon, Sept 9.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, September 13, at 1:30 PM in Grarup Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Dodge of Swaledale will officiate.

Gertie Klapp, a daughter of Gerrit and Aaffien Klapp, was born April 17, 1988 in Holland. She was united in marraige to Jake Kramer Sr., July 11, 1907. She and her husband and four children came to Rockwell March 13, 1913. They farmed near Rockwell, Swaledale, and Thornton for thirty years. They moved to Sheffield in 1945 where they resided until July of 1978 when they moved to the Rockwell Nursing Home.

Surviving are seven sons, George Kramer of Waukee, Chris Kramer of Mason City, Jake Kramer Jr. of South San Francisco, Ralph Kramer of Sheffield, Pete Kramer of Hampton, Marvin Kramer of Council Bluffs, Paul Kramer of Torrance, California, five daughters, Mrs. Leo (Alfina) Jones of Mason City, Mrs. John (Dena)Colby of Clear Lake, Mrs. Grace Faber of Ames, Mrs. Robert (Rose) May of Torrance, California, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Deam of Sheffield, 36 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jake Kramer Sr, infant son, Raymond, daughter Mrs. Marvin (Gertrude) Rule.
