HAMPTON CHRONICLE, November 30, 1972, page 6, section A:
"Funeral Services Will Be Today For E. Ray Green
"E. Ray Green, long time resident of Hampton and Franklin County, passed away Monday night at the Franklin General Hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Green & Sietsema Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Wendel and Dr. James P. Gable officiating at the last rites. Burial will be in the Hampton cemetery.
"Ernest Ray Green was born Jan. 21, 1882, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Green, south of Hampton. He was a funeral director, having been licensed for 53 years. He retired from active practice in 1958. He was married to Nellie Rellihan Feb. 22, 1911 in Dubuque, who preceded him in death. On Aug 2, 1944 he was married to Myrtle Davidson of Alexander, who also preceded him in death. He lived in Chicago and Alexander before moving to Hampton.
"He is survived by two sisters, Harriet and Agnes Green, both of Hampton; one brother, Lewis Green of Hackensack, Minn., and one step-daughter, Vivian Rockwood of Johnson City, Tenn. Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Also surviving are two step-daughters-in-law and two step-granddaughters.
"He was a member of the United Methodist Church."
