Obituary, Iowa, 1900 "Another of the pioneers of Franklin county has passed away. Mrs. A.T. Little died at the family residence on North Bridge street Thursday morning, August 23d, the day of the Old Settlers annual reunion. Her maiden name was Harriett Gillett and she was born in Orleans county, N.Y., September 24, 1831. When two years of age her parents removed to Ashtabula county, Ohio and here she was married, April 1, 1851, to A. T. Little. Eleven children were born to them, seven sons and four daughters. Four sons and all the daughters are yet living. Mr. and Mrs. Little came to Franklin county in 1859, settling in West Fork township, and in 1892, removed to Hampton. In early life she became a Christian and united with the Baptist church of which she remained a member until 1892 when she united with the Christian church. Mrs. Little was a faithful wife, a devoted mother and her christianity was practical rather than theoretical. She was a good, kind neighbor, and cheerfully underwent, with her husband and children, the privations of pioneer, and our older settlers will well remember that the latch string of the Little home was always out. Her illnes has been long and she long ago became resigned to what was the apparent and inevitable end. The funeral services wer held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. S. Hill. The text was, `Blessed are they that hunger after righteousness.' A good woman and a devoted christian has gone to her reward."
