Franklin County
It’s Past & Present

OTISVILLE-was laid out by L. H. Morgan, in 1857, on section 31, township 91, range 22, about half a mile west of the Iowa River. The only residence that the town plat has (we believe it is now vacated) is that of Hon. E. A. Howland, member of the Board of Supervisors from Morgan Township, and President of that body. Mr. Howland is also Post Master, Justice of the Peace, and Real Estate Agent. His location being near the Wright County line, he transacts a large real estate business in both Franklin and Wright Counties, and is every way reliable and trustworthy. He has an excellent list of lands for sale.

R. E. Train has a steam saw mill about half a mile north of Otisville.

The Congregationalist has regular preaching by Rev. Mr. Harrison.
