Death of Owens children

I am looking for Bessie May Owens born abt 1878, Irene Owens born abt 1876 and Robert Dale Owens born abt 1879. They were the children of Robert D. and Lavinia (Mitchell) Owens and the family lived in Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa. All three children died in 1881. I would like to know the reason why this happened. What it sickness or an accident?
