My Great Grandmother was Emma Immel married to Ralph Phillips. She was John and Ernestine's daughter. They also had a daughter, Ida. John was married before and I know that two children from the first marriage were William and Vera. Vera was married to Louis (Lewis) Ingersoll and all are buried in Charles City, I think all are at the Riverside Cemetery and John is also buried there. I haven't worked on this line of the genealogy for quite some time. I believe John was with the 27th Regiment infantry, Company E for the Wisconsin Volunteers during the Civil War (or the War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865), I found this many years ago on the Wisconsin historical Society Digital library and archives. It states that he was from Alto, enlisted Feb. 1, 1865 and M.O. (mustered out)on Aug. 29, 1865. John died Dec. 26, 1912 at age 77, buried at Riverside. On an 1880 census of St. Charles Township, Floyd County John is listed as born in Baden, children listed are Lizzie, Harry?, Caroline, Anna, Katy, Sena (I think this is actually Vera), Henry?, John, William. All the children were born in Wisconsin except for William who was born in Iowa and was only 1 year old. Don't have much more that that on John, hope this little bit helps.
