The following is a witness statement after the death of a soldier in WWI. One of the witnesses was a Warner SEARS of Nora Springs, IA. We are looking for information on Warner Sears. ie. Where did he live after the war, who did he marry, etc.
Witness statement:
" It was on the St. Mihiel drive South of Beney, France, on the morning of Sept. 13th (1918) We had just started the day's advance when an H. E. (high explosive) shell struck near Boyce. Fragments inflicting severe wounds in the body. He was immediately taken to the first aid station. We were later informed of his death, September 16th, in Evacuation Hosp. No. 1. Informant: Sears, Warner, Cpl 100911, Co. E, 168th Inf., Home: Nora Springs, Iowa. Signed: Paul W. Clark."
