I am not a relative but I found the following:
Inquiry regarding Melville Clark
Preliminary and brief findings are as follows:
His parents were Edsen H. Clark and Catherine Jane Tanner. A fairly good pedigree covering several generations is posted on Rootsweb but documentation and primary sources are not known except for 1880 US census and various census records forward.
Melville is known to have died in Minneapolis 5 Aug 1940 so a request could be made to the Minnesota State Historical Society for a biographical search such as an obituary.
He lived in Aberdeen, Brown, SD so inquiries to the county library or genealogical society could obtain a biographical sketch. His listed children in 1920 included Leota M, Myrna A. and Russell H. The 1930 census was not checked.
His wife Fannie was born in Missouri in 1875 according to the 1905 South Dakota state Census. Her maiden name has not been confirmed as Clark.
