The 1900 census of Cerro Gordo county, Portland Twp. has a Theodore Stoner, born Dec. 1889, listed as a grandson of Mary, born 1839, a widow.

She also has two sons living with her, Chester A., wife Addie; Charles C., wife Mary, son Cecil.
Theodore is listed after Cecil and there is no indication as to whether or not he is a son of Charles C.

Also the handwriting on the census could be interpreted as Stover.
