In Response To: LOSEE FAmily in Floyd Twp., Floyd County from 1866 to 1875 (Holly Guidry)

Need information on Charles H. Losee born about 1863. He lived in Marble Rock Iowa. Would like to try and locate his decendents. I am working on family histories of our early settlers for the local historical society. Ref:LOSEE family homestead on Dry Hill in Town of Watertown NY Jefferson County.

I found a newspaper clipping that said Charles H. Losee, visited the old homestead in 1912 was very unhappy about the ancestoral burying ground, to this he had the 18 graves disintered and moved elsewere in the city of watertown. the current owners at the time also sold him a book/bible that had the early history, birth, death, marriage of losee family. I am trying to find out where he had the Losee graves reburied and a bit of there history to add to this families history file. i cannot find them listed on any old cemeteries records. the only, other information i found is that 11 old tombstones where found in 1960 while building a new barn of the old Losee homestead. If remains were removed in 1912 why didn't they take the gravestone? Where were they moved too?
thank you
