In the famous 1908 book, The Book of the Pearl by Kunz and Stevenson there is reference to a small book by the above name titled Fresh-water Pearls published in Charles City, Iowa in 1899.
Any information would be welcome.
I am currently researching an interesting "pearl craze" phenominum which swept the country about then. Charles City was apparently not immune and I will share whatever I find from any source as it surfaces. Eventually I will be checking your newspapers as that is the best source.Thanks for your help, George Johnson
