William Meggitt
Born Aug. 21, 1836
Died Sept. 19, 1911

Mr. William Meggitt was born in Craul, England on August 21, 1836 and died at this home in Osage
September 19th, 1911, at the age of seventy-five years and twenty-nine days.

He came to America in 1867, settled at Madison, Wisconsin. In 1873 he was married to Lizzie Carter. They lived in Madison for a few years, when they came to Iowa in 1877 and settled on a farm near Charles City, where they lived until about three years ago when they moved to Osage.
No children were born to the union. He leaves a wife to mourn his loss. He leaves one brother and family, living near Charles City, and many relatives in England.

He was always a kind and loving husband and neighbor who will be greatly missed.

The services were held at his late residence in Osage. Rev. Miss Bartholomew officiating.

After the funeral, the body was taken to Charles City where another service was held and the body laid to rest in the Charles City cemetery.
