MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - Mrs. Mertie Melugin, 70 died Sunday at her home in Marble Rock after about a four month's illness. She suffered a stroke in June and a second one on Saturday afternoon

She was born to Frank and Marriette Dean Keith April 14, 1880 in Belvidere Illinois, and came to Marble Rock with her parents when she was 11 months old. She lived in or near Marble Rock since, and was married to William Melugin of Marble Rock, September 16, 1897. They lived on a farm near Marble Rock until 1919 when they came to town.

Her husband and three children preceded her in death.

She leaves four children: Bearl Dalton Melugin, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Eldo Weigman; Allison; Woodrow W. Melugin, Fredricksburg, and Mrs. Darrow Gates, Marble Rock; one brother, Ray Keith of Marble Rock; and three grandsons.

Services were Tuesday, conducted by Rev. J. W Bearse, pastor of the Marble Rock Methodist church.

The Watterson funeral home of Greene was in charge, burial in the West Side cemetery at Marble Rock.
