Rudd Rites for Paul J. Phillip

RUDD, IOWA - Funeral services for Paul Jacob Phillip, 67, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eden Presbyterian Church here.

Mr. Phillip died Saturday at a Charles City hospital. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd, with the Rev. H. A. Smidt and the Rev. Willis McLaughlin.

The Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include four brothers, Walter, Tuscon, Ariz.; Andrew, Osage; Robert, Rudd and Oliver, Charles City.

Funeral Held For
Paul J. Philipp, 67

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Eden Presbyterian church for Paul J. Philipp, 67, of Rudd. The Rev. H. A. Smidt, church pastor was in charge of the service and was assisted by the Rev. Willis McLaughlin, pastor of the Rudd Methodist church. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery near Rudd.

Mr. Philipp died Saturday Jan. 1, at a Charles City hospital following a 10 day illness. Cause of death was attributed to a heart attack.

Paul Jacob Phillip was born Aug. 6, 1898 in Herman Mo. the son of Andrew and Emma Proett Philipp. He moved to the Rudd area in 1918 and was engaged in farming until 1952. He has since lived in Rudd and was semi-retired. He was a member of Eden Pyesbyterian church and the Moose Lodge of Charles City.

Mr. Philipp was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Edward.

Survivors include four brothers: Walter of Tucson, Arizona; Andrew of Osage; Robert of Rudd; and Oliver of Charles City.
