CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services for Frank M. O'Dowd, 78**, who died Wednesday afternoon, will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church.

The Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Guild and parish Rosary will be recited at the Hauser Funeral Home Friday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Born in Niles Township, Floyd County, Iowa, in a log cabin, on March 4, 1878**, he was a painter and interior decorator and retired 10 years ago.

He was married to Mary Ellen Murphy, September 12, 1903 in Charles City.

Surviving are a son, Stanley, Charles City; a daughter, Mrs Gwendolyn Nilles, South Bend, Indiana, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a brother Patrick O'Dowd, Charles City, and a sister, Mrs Anna Starr, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Besides his wife, who died April 16, 1960, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

He was a life-long resident of Floyd County.
