Clara Angell Kiggens
Born: 21 January 1874, Scott Township, Floyd County, Iowa

Died: 3 January 1901, Villard, Pope County, Minnesota

Mrs. Clara Angell-Kiggens was born January 21st, 1874, in Scott Township, Floyd County, Iowa. She grew to womanhood in Marble Rock, Iowa, where she early evinced a gentle and loving disposition, which made her greatly beloved by all who knew her; as she reached maturity, her sympathetic nature drew around her, a host of friends, who appreciated her worth as a counsellor and sympathizer.

When fifteen years of age, she heeded the voice of the Holy Spirit, gave herself to Christ, and began a short, but useful Christian life. She at once united with the M. E. church in Marble Rock, and entered upon the work of the church with all the energy of her hopeful nature.

She became a leader in Christian society, and was the means of accomplishing much good in Marble Rock.

June 15th, she was married to W. B. Kiggens, moving to Greene, Iowa, she with her devoted husband took up lifes duties, performing them well at that place, until their removal to Villard, Minnesota, in July, 1900. Here her lifes work was soon to end, she was transplanted from the church militant to the church triumphant, January 3rd, 1901.

A short time before her death she was impressed with the idea that soon she was to leave her husband and friends to enter upon the realities of an eternal life, nevertheless, she expressed herself ready to go, if it was God's will. She leaves a husband, infant boy, father, mother, brother, sister, together with other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her loss. Her lifes work is finished, but yet not ended.

The blessed memories that attended her short but useful life, will ever remain as beacon of lights in the hearts of those to whom she was nearest and dearest. She is gone, but her memory lives. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."

---------

We wish to hereby express our heartfelt thanks for the innumerable kind deeds and sympathy extended to us by our friends in our sad hour of affliction.
