Suicide at Charles City.
Charles City, May 20,—Mrs. Henry Vennekolt, a wealthy German lady, committed suicide here yesterday afternoon by hanging herself in the barn. Her husband lay down to sleep in the afternoon and told his wife to wake him soon. When he awoke about an hour later he could not find his wife. Instituting a search he discovered her hanging in the barn. Her mind was temporarily unbalanced by nervous prostration brought on by loss of sleep, on account of the children having the measles. They have a fine home on East Clark street near the college and home life was pleasant.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Martha who is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. She was born January 29, 1869 and died May 19, 1904.
