NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Linda Kay Froning, of Nora Springs, died Tuesday (February 19, 2019) at her home in Nora Springs.

A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday (February 23, 2019) at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 101 N Hawkeye Ave, Nora Springs with Reverend David Werges officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Friday (February 22, 2019) at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N Hawkeye, Nora Springs.

Linda Kay Davis was born on August 22, 1945, the daughter of Cecil and Lillian (Timmens) Davis. She graduated from Mason City High School before attending and graduating from La James College in Mason City.

Linda was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Barton "Bart" Karl Froning on February 1, 1969, in Mason City. The couple raised three children, Dawn, Jamie and Jason, on an acreage outside of Rock Falls. After moving to Nora Springs, Bart and Linda owned and operated a second-hand store, “This-N-That” for many years.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her whole world, and she was the light of their lives. Taking care of her family was everything to her, she had the most giving and selfless heart for everyone she met.

She was passionate about her jewelry, had a fabulous sense of style that grabbed your attention when she walked into a room. Linda loved everything Elvis, shopping, going to auctions, and traveling with her grandkids.

Linda is survived by her children, Dawn (Michael) Miller, Nora Springs, Jamie (Jodi Datema) Froning, Nora Springs, and Jason (Erin) Froning, Mason City; six grandchildren, Brianna Miller, Britain Miller, Chase Froning, Skyler (Emily Kaune) Froning, Harley Froning, and Kinsley Froning; her brothers, Larry (Peg) Davis, Mick (Kathy) Davis, Rick (Deb) Davis, and Jack Davis; and her sister, Becky Eskildsen; as well as many other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Barton "Bart" Karl Froning, her parents, Cecil and Lillian (Timmens) Davis, her brothers, Tim and Roland Davis, her sister, Iona Davis, and her mother and father-in-law, Karl and Ruth (Bonjour) Froning.
