MASON CITY: Yvonne M. Schuler, 79, of Mason City, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, September 7, 2018 at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Nora Springs. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Yvonne M. Schuler, 79, of Mason City, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, September 7, 2018 at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Nora Springs. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until time of services on Friday at the church.

Yvonne was born on January 11, 1939, in Lakota, Iowa, to Dan and Gladys (Thompson) O’Keefe. She graduated in 1957 from Buffalo Center High School. Following graduation she attended Mankato Business School in Mankato, MN. She was employed at Northrup King in Waterloo, Iowa, until her marriage to Larry Schuler on August 22, 1958.

In 1959 they moved to Nora Springs where their three children were born Julie Ann, Teri Lynn and Steven Larry.

Yvonne worked as secretary at First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs for 21 years, and after retiring from that position worked at her church home, St. Luke Lutheran Church, as secretary for 5 years.

Survivors are her children, Julie Larson of McKinney, TX, Teri (Greg) Salier of Osage, IA, Steven (Sheila) Schuler of New Llano, LA; four grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Salier of Mt. Vernon, IA, Justin (Emily) Salier of Indianola, IA, Samantha Schuler and Alexandra Larson of McKinney, TX; five great-grandchildren, Nora, Josie, Cole, Jalen and Kylie Salier; two sisters, Sharon, (Miller) Roskamp of Cedar Falls, IA, Donna (Lawrence) Miller of Clear Lake, IA; two nieces, Penny Voxland and Lori Nordyke; three special nephews, Michael Roskamp, Mark Miller and Timothy Miller.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Gladys O’Keefe; husband, Larry in 2016; son in law, Paul Larson and a niece Kandy Dewaard.
