Plan Rites at Charles City for Mrs. W. Braend

CHARLES CITY – Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home here, for Mrs. William Braend, 87, who died Saturday at the home of her son, Oscar Braend, 407 Sprigg Street, where she had been making her home for several years.

Mrs. Braend had been in failing health for more than two years. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church, and had been a resident of Charles City for 55 years. The Rev. Fred W. Ortmeyer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Oscar and Walter Braend, both of Charles City, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her husband died in 1946 and four sisters have also preceded her in death.
