With Betty’s outgoing personality, she acquired many new friends during the 18 years in Oklahoma. At the urging of their daughter and granddaughters they returned to Iowa in 2004.

Over the years, they enjoyed many return visits to Scotland and several countries on the European continent. She also enjoyed accompanying Allan on many visits to major golf tournaments. She especially enjoyed playing bingo with her good friend, Donna Cooper, and loved daily long walks with friend, Suzanne Sage and the girls during her stay in Pryor.

Betty was baptized in the Nora Springs Christian Church and was a lifelong active member and Sunday school teacher.

Betty is survived by her husband, Allan; daughter Dianne (Jay) Christiansen all of Nora Springs, her grandson, Seth Fingalsen of Adrian, MO; her granddaughters, Kylee Christiansen and significant other, Chuck Bengtson, of Nora Springs, and Bailey (John) Anderegg and their daughter, Kinsey, of Mason City; her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Young of Saltcoats, Scotland and Shirley Manning, of Fort Smith, AR, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

The family is especially appreciative of the excellent care Betty received from all the wonderful nurses and aides in the Weather-B-Way wing at the IOOF home.
